After a long Wednesday working + a longer night packing + the shortest nap of my life, Nic and I made our way to Sweden bright and early on Wednesday morning.
Cedar Rapids - Atlanta
Atlanta - New York City
New York City - Stockholm
1 sleeping pill, 2 lousy meals, 3 fun travel companions. 4 - 7-Eleven coffees to get us through the day.
After a quick walk around Stockholm, a brief nap at the hotel, we grabbed some sandwiches from a grocery store and had a fabulous picnic lunch in a park right across the street from our hotel.
The park was streaming with sunbathers, dog walkers, kids, adults - everyone was out enjoying the incredible weather.
We then headed to Maddie's school for her thesis presentation - which I thought was quite great.
Another quick nap at the hotel before heading out to dinner at Vapiano's.
And finally - time for bed at 9:30. Tomorrow we wake up early to run/bike and then head out for our road trip!
The traveling does not sound even a little bit fun...at least the flying part! The whole getting there and being on vacation sounds heavenly!
ReplyDeleteWhat is your sister getting her degree in? And if I may ask what is her thesis on? I love hearing what people are going to grad school for, its always so interesting to see how people are tweaking their degrees and such.
My sister is getting her Masters in sustainable design and her thesis was titled, "Active Design: Towards Healthier Communities. Using urban design to promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity in one Swedish suburb."
DeleteWow- I've been following all your travel posts and I love them! You take such beautiful photos it just feels like I am there right with you. Your mom and sister could be twins! You have a beautiful family. :o)
ReplyDeleteAhh - thanks Rose! I am trying to stay on top of the recaps this time around, since I did such a horrible job last time!
DeleteMy mom and my sister are total twins, it is kind of creepy. They hear that all the time! :)
