flashback

If you recall, I am taking an online anatomy and physiology course in hopes of someday earning a degree in dietetics. While it has been a challenge finding any time to actually study for the class, it has been kind of fun. It has been fun mostly because it is a huge flashback to high school anatomy and physiology...although thankfully, I won't have to dissect a fetal pig time time around (even though I did have a hot senior crack open the jaw for me with his bare hands back in the day...swoon).

And even though finding the time to study has been a challenge (hopefully things will be changing this week though in favor of letting me have a few extra hours each week to dedicate to studying), I am currently rocking an "A" at 99.32%.

It's all coming back to me, it's coming back to me now. I can barely recall but it's all coming back to me now...

Name that song...it's good for another flashback!

back to school.

So we all know that I go through phases of wanting to go back to school.  Most of the time I talk about going back to become a nurse, and this always happens around the holidays, right before I have to go back to work after a nice long two week break, before the heart of Daffodil season.  I have gone through this nursing phase about 3 times since graduating from Augie (do the math, that means I go through this phase just about every year - it's like clockwork!)

Well I am excited to tell you that I am completely over this nursing school thing.  I could never be a nurse, not ever.  Way to scary for me, not sure how a few of my closest friends do it.  My new thing that I really hope does not turn out to be a phase, it to go back to school to become a registered dietitian.  How awesome would that be?  I love food, and I love making good food choices, and I know that eating "right" doesn't have to be boring and without butter...  That combined with my love of being active, it just seems like it would be a good life decision.

So, I have found two programs that are completely online and I am way excited to look into them more in depth.  I am also way scared...going back to school?  We all know, especially Becky, how much I hated college and just wanted to graduate and start my "real life" (ha!).  The going back to school is not the real scary part, I am excited to challenge my brain and give it a good workout again, but what happens if I actually do take all the necessary classes and get accepted into an internship program somewhere...that means I would have to quit my job and maybe even move.  My job is my comfort zone, my safety net, how could we move away from Iowa, from Nic's work...how do people do it?

Life is all about taking risks, right?
