Happy Birthday Nic!

Today marks Nic's 25th birthday! We spent most of the day hiking at Lake Geode State Park about 1 hour south of Washington. We were planning on camping this weekend since we were enjoying 60 degree temps, but decided against it because of how muddy it is. Camping with Maia is great, but camping with muddy Maia...not so much.

We got home from hiking and Nic immediately started working on his amazing work bench and work area in the back of the basement. We are eventually going to turn this space into a work area/studio so Nic can start doing some pottery again.

Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans were on the menu for his birthday dinner. He also chose a honey cake for his birthday cake. Haven't made it before...but the recipe is below! Just kidding! I have a tendency to ruin birthday cakes, and now Nic joins the "Ruined Birthday Cake" club! Other members include Ike, with many more to follow I am sure!  Good thing we had a cheesecake sitting in the fridge so Nic wasn't without a delicious birthday cake.
