So our trip to New York took an unexpected turn from the get-go. We bought tickets for Amtrak a few months ago thinking it would be fun experience not only for us, but for Jackson, our two year old nephew as well, and would eliminate the stress of driving the 13 hours from Chicago to Cooperstown. On Friday, as I was anxiously awaiting Nic to return home from his trip to Vegas I decided to check Amtrack.com to make sure everything was kosher. NOPE! For some reason, Amtrak decided to bump up our departure time by an hour and there was no way we could make it to Chicago in time. So our fun train trip, turned into and even more fun road trip! We drove all night and arrived in Cooperstown around 11:30AM. (If you look closely at the photo of Jackson almost sleeping...he is holding a chicken nugget in his hand. A chicken nugget that he licked, nibbled on and licked some more, but decided he'd rather hold it while he slept...interesting little fella!)
After a quick nap and some time to freshen up, we all headed out to the Fly Creek Cider Mill in historic Fly Creek, New York. Not only are they a cider mill, they also have DUCKS! and TRACTORS! Let me tell you, if you are ever with a two year old boy and near tractors that he cannot ride on, run away fast! :)
I think after the 13 hour drive from Chicago (plus 6 hours from MPLS to Chicago) Jackson just might have been a little tuckered out...
All photos are SOOC (straight out of camera)...if you think I have time to mess around with Photoshop after being on vacation for a week, you are CRAZY!
