Mailbox

The mailbox that was here when we bought the house was plastic with wood paneling around it to give it that "Abe Lincoln Log Cabin Theme." The top piece of paneling has always been missing giving it that "bald on the top" look. It has been teetering back and forth at a 45 degree angle in either direction because some of the bolts had rusted through. When the piece of paneling fell off that held the flag I new that was that.

Today I installed your generic black metal mail box. The plastic ones are OK, but the latch stops working after a while, then the neighbors can see all that questionable mail you reviecve...anyway it is so generic looking it wasn't even worth a picture. But if I had more time to make it a real project I'm guessing it would have looked something like one of these mailboxes from tolex.com.
