Nic and I spent this past weekend in Rochester and had a blast! We got to spend time with great friends and family.
Friday night we pulled into Roch and got dinner with Becky and Curt, and then went to see Funny People - a very long, slow movie that had its moments. Saturday we spent much of our day at Christina's and had a BBQ in honor of Greg getting ready to head off to Kenya and her sister and brother-in-law just returning from a 2-year stint in Peru for the Peace Corps. There was food galore, an awesome card game called "oh shit" (I think) and some tandem bike riding...
We were hoping to camp on Saturday night, but due to some heavy rain, decided to chicken-out and spend the night at Becky and Curt's again. We had a fun night hanging out with their adorable daughter Elizabeth (the only baby that likes Nic!) and playing some serious games of Sequence.
Sunday morning we headed out to Chester Woods Park to do a little kayaking and try out geocaching with Nic's new Garmin. Fun Fun. We've decided that our next big purchase is going to be kayaks for each of us - it was a blast - even if it was super windy! You should have seen the waves, at least 2 feet high! :)
.21 miles to go to our first geocache site...
This tree was the 'cache' - which we weren't sure of at the time. We circled around it about a dozen times before we noticed the numbers written on the trunk. Those numbers identified the cache and also lead to another place where you could record that you had found it. We figured all this out when we got back to Becky and Curt's. Hey - not too bad for our first trip out geocaching! I am sure not everyone chooses a kayaking geocache for their first time.
We grabbed a quick lunch on our way out with my uncle Kelly, aunt Dori, and cousins: Pam, Donny, Jenna (his fiancee), Kameron, Tony, Lindsey and their son Brayden.
A busy weekend, yes - but such a wonderful weekend.
