7 day challenge

Monday begins my half marathon training...and oh so much more.  I am not training for a real half marathon, you know - the ones that you pay to run just so you can get the sweet t-shirt when you finish.  Rather, I am just training and maybe at the end of 12 weeks, I will run 13.1 miles for the fun of it.  So Monday is the beginning.

And as if trying to accomplish 100% of my week's workouts isn't hard enough, I decided to challenge Nic and I at one other thing.  This might be even harder than my workout challenge.  The challenge - we are not allowed to go to the grocery store until Sunday.  Six days, no grocery store.  Seems easy, except that the grocery store is my favorite store...

So today, on our way home from the great state of Minnesota, we planned out our weeks meals and stocked up on the essentials.  If we accomplish this goal - we each get 20 bucks.  WOOT!

So here's the plan for the week:
Monday
Workout - weights (kp)
Dinner - chicken salads
Tuesday
Workout - 3 miles (kp), weights (ns)
Dinner - tacos
Wednesday
Workout - 5 x 400m (kp)
Dinner - leftovers for Nic
Thursday
Workout - 3 miles & weights (kp), weights (ns)
Dinner - nachos
Friday
Workout - rest (kp)
Dinner - soup & sandwiches (or pizza...)
Saturday
Workout - 3 miles (kp)
Dinner - spaghetti with turkey pesto meatballs
Sunday
Workout - 5 miles (kp)
Dinner - meatball subs


To help me accomplish my training goals, I will be signing up for 10 sessions with a personal trainer at the Y tomorrow.  Excited!  I worked out with the personal trainer for a while before the wedding and it was a lot of fun, hard work.
