(Shrimp Fra Diavolo from Annie's Eats)
There is no doubt about it - Nic and I make and eat some pretty good meals. Pecan crusted chicken with jalapeno cheddar biscuits, shrimp curry, coconut fried chicken... But sometimes we get stuck in a rut and make the same things over and over and over and....
So - what's for dinner? What do you and your family have for dinner during a typical week? Is it homemade something every night (or are Nic and I the only crazies that do that?), dinner out, quick one pot meals? Do you plan out your meals for a week so you have no questions what you will be eating, or do you fly by the seat of your pants and make whatever sounds good on a given day?
Last week and for the next few weeks, while we are participating in our hYped class, Nic and I have been doing pretty easy dishes during the week (salads and sandwiches mostly) and then cooking together (at least trying to cook together) on the weekends.
We are also trying to plan out our meals for one week at a time. This is really an effort to cut down on our grocery bills as it is our third highest expense each month...
This week I have meetings two nights and we are heading up to Minnesota on Friday, so seriously, our menu is salads and sandwiches each day. Nothing fancy for us...until I get in the kitchen with Maddie on Saturday when we will cook up a storm!
So - what do you guys plan on eating this week? Cedar plank salmon, McDonalds, Parmesan crusted chicken with sage butter sauce....
