oh henry

Nope...not a post about a candy bar..

It has been a while since I've blogged, and I have two good excuses.  Two weekends ago Nic and I traveled to Minnesota to visit family.  It was an amazing weekend spending time with family and friends.  It was so good in fact, that I didn't even get any photos I was having far too much fun.  Upon our very late arrival home to Iowa, we discovered our cat Henry, dead in the basement.  Soooo sad.  I've lost a pet before, but we knew when that was going to happen so we could prepare ourselves a bit.  This was quite sudden (although Henry did have some health problems throughout his life, but nothing major.)  We are not sure what caused his death.
(Henry - orange, Jack - black)

Jack, Henry's brother, has changed quite a bit in the past few weeks.  You cannot be in a room without him jumping into your lap to get some cuddle time.  A little out of the ordinary, and a little annoying at times.  He has also taken over one of my pillows at night and practically sleeps on top of my head.

We will miss Henry, and no, in case you are wondering - we are not looking to get another cat.

Reason number 2 for not blogging: Daffodil Days.  AHHHGGG.  The morning after we found Henry, was the beginning of Daffodil week, which meant I was on the road, living in the in-laws mini van for three days straight.  I can't complain much about Daffodil Days this year as over the years I have gotten a lot more volunteers involved which makes it easier for me.  It just really does take up quite a bit of time.

We were able to go up to Minnesota again this past weekend to see Ike who was visiting from Texas.  It was another great weekend - and it is now official, Nic and I are planning on moving back!  So, as soon as you, yes YOU, find us quality jobs we will put our house on the market! :)  (ok, we realize a move back to Minnesota might take some time 2-3 years..., but if the perfect job becomes available, you can count on us to apply.)

I think that should be it for now!  Hopefully things will slow down a bit and I will be able to breath and blog a bit more - for the 6 of you who read this! ;)
