Nic and I spent Memorial Day weekend at my Grandparent's farm near Mankato. We figured out it has been at least 2-3 years since we have been there, so we were dying to visit.
Gma and Gpa were spoiled with delicious dinners made by us! We did (of course) get the standard roast and potatoes too while we were there.
Grandpa trying to convince me that cows are nice - what the photo does not show is his hand being bit off a few seconds after this one was taken.
Maddie came down to spend the day with us on Saturday. We had a fun time walking in the woods, were we spent hours playing when we were little kids. But playing in the woods also meant trying to avoid being attacked by killer cows! I think they know that Nic and I have their cousin in our freezer... :)
This is the little house that we used to play in all the time as kids.
Mom and her siblings also played in it when they were kids.
Running for her life (very gracefully) as cows attacked.
We dubbed our time in the woods, "When Cows Attack - Part 3." SERIOUSLY - whenever we walk down to the "big woods" the cows follow us and on our way back, we come face to face in the narrow lane. Happens every time and scares the crap out of me! Combine that with a barking dog and mama cows protecting their babies = not good. I kid I kid for the most part - but the look in their eyes, I knew this time would be the time.
...return her and no one gets hurt.
Maia, rocking out her new harness, as she runs for her life...the cows found out that Bessy is in our freezer.
On Sunday we headed up to Mankato to spend the day with Barb, Kurt, birthday girl Marissa and Alexa. We enjoyed a picnic and a hike at Minneopa State Park. (photos to follow!)
P-p-p-pleeease share with me?
I am so cute and can sit here forever looking at you with my big brown puppy eyes...
i really love the water pump and cup pic, looks like a fun place to be.
ReplyDeleteGma and pa look awesome:) Oh and the cow story reminds me of the time we climbed a mountain in Greece only to run into "killer" cows at the top!!
