On Friday Nic and I absolutely booked it to Minnesota so I could be home in time for a lovely "Ladies Wine Night" hosted at my mom's house by my beautiful friend Leah.
Guests included my mom (of course), Leah's mom Julie, Nancy, Crystal, Gina, and Abby. We were later joined by my beautiful sister, Maddie - who just flew in from Sweden the night before, and her friends Brenna and Heidi.

We had an a-mazing time, ate lots of great food and tasted 12 wines. It was fun to hear what everyone had to say about each wine - clearly we all have different tastes! A wine that tasted way too sweet and syrupy for me we LOVED by others and my least favorite red was a white wine lovers favorite.
The best part - the red the got the most love, was Trader Joe's two-buck-chuck shiraz. Just goes to show you that you can get great wine for cheap.
I brought this Iowa red and really liked it. I've never had it before Friday and clearly bought it because of the label.

Leah did a wonderful job planning the menu. We had a wide variety of options inspired by the beautiful Fall we are having. Her mom helped too and made this delicious chocolate cake cheesecake. Umm...yeah.
The table scape was beautiful, even after we devoured everything. You'll have to pop over to Leah's blog soon to see the before photos.
Leah also needs to post the recipe for these cookies - a modified oatmeal cookie from Betty Crocker with the butter removed (right Leah?) and replaced with 15 oz of pumpkin.
A little random - but we had to take a close-up of Nancy as she matched her shirt to the color of her eyes perfectly.
All the wine (most of which is still at Mom's - yeah!) See? We really didn't drink that much!
I love Fall. And wine. And food. Any my awesome family and friends.
