maddie, ike & jake visit iowa

Maddie, Ike and Jake came down to visit for a few days this past week.  Four words can sum up our days spent together: Phase10, Pictures, PS3 and beer.

           

 

 

 

  

By the end of their visit, Maia was sure one tired pup.  Way too much cuddle time for her!

traditions

This is the first Christmas that Nic and I are spending as a couple, alone, sans family. Although it is a little sad (considering Ike just got home from Iraq, Cathy is finally out of the hospital and we have an adorable new niece), it is kind of nice too. We talked a lot today about our individual family's traditions and thought of some new ones for our family.

The first tradition in the PS household will be, now and forever more, a Christmas Eve hike. No matter how snowy, rainy, muddy, or cold it is, we will bundle up and head outdoors. Today's hike was full of mud, rain, and specs of snow. But very beautiful to say the least.
