The wedding was very nice. It was at a Catholic church and they did the whole sha-bang, so I for sure got in my once-a-year visit to church out of the way. :) My boss had to whisper directions in my ear on when to stand up, sit down, fight fight fight. lol A bunch of us co-workers hit up a bar after the wedding before heading to the reception. It is so nice to get to hang out with them outside of work - - who am I kidding?! It's so nice to actually get to SEE my co-workers! Being a remote worker has some disadvantages.
We didn't stay at the reception too long because we both had very good intentions of waking up early and heading out for a bike & run with the running club. Well, for the 2nd weekend in a row we overslept. I was actually up around 5AM (because the damn cat was hogging my pillow) and thought we'd actually make it this time. Oh well - there is always next week (and the rest of the summer!).
We woke up around 7:30, grabbed a quick breakfast and bundled up, it was 40 friggin' degrees out! Brrrr. The run was probably one of the better runs for me in a while, I felt great the entire time and very relaxed. I think breakfast had something to do with it - 1 piece of toast with almond butter and jelly with a banana. Normally I go for two pieces of toast, and end up cramping in the first few miles and feeling "heaving" for the rest of the run.
After the run/bike we played with the pup and grilled up some tasty burgers, served with avocados, salsa and cheese, with a side salad. We cleaned our mess of a garage (one of the disadvantages of working remotely is that your work stuff quickly takes over your entire garage), did some yard work (randomly planting mystery plants amongst some hostas - sorry Maddie! Hopefully they grow and look good), and made a quick run to the grocery store.
I haven't baked in a while, so took some time this afternoon to use up some of our zucchini from our CSA to make zucchini, pecan, and chocolate chip muffins. They look delish!
With the rest of the zucchini (well most of the rest!) I made this salad for dinner:
In the mix:
- 3 grilled zucchini
- grape tomatoes
- basil (from our CSA)
- orzo
- lemon-olive oil-garlic dressing
- grilled pepper shrimp
Good choice on the blue dress.. Even though both are super cute:) (where did you go, I have been trying to find dresses with no luck) Oh and you are sure naked for running in 40 degree weather.. Crazy girl:)
