hike @ wildcat den state park

Nic and I treated ourselves to an early morning wake up call on Sunday for a date night hike. It was a rare weekend day when we had no plans, and it had been forever since we've gone hiking (considering it used to be a weekly event, back in the day when we didn't have kids, I mean like 2857 other things going on). Seriously people with kids - how do you do it?

After hearty servings of oatmeal and generous pours of coffee, we made our way to Wildcat Den State Park.

(Some day I want to live in a house that looks like a barn, and have wood floors that look like this door, rivets and all! True story my dear city friends - I want to live in a barn.)

Someday I would like to be able to leave a huge plot of land to become a state park, what a great legacy.

Mmmmm...Pie! Sounds good especially after climbing the hill we had to. Sadly, there was none to be found.

  1. GREAT pictures. They are also so gorgeous. I grew up in Iowa and miss the rolling hills :D
