cyclocross at morgan creek

Last Sunday, Nic and I headed up to Cedar Rapids to watch a friend in a cyclocross race.

Have you heard of cyclocross? This was new to me last year.

It is basically like cross country running, but for cyclists, and includes obstacles. Here - I'll let the photos speak for themselves...

A friend of ours is trying to get Nic addicted to biking any way he can. I think he just might have hooked him with cyclocross.

It was an amazingly beautiful Fall day to be outside.

I'll be back soon with some Fall inspired recipes...and a race recap of my upcoming half marathon in Des Moines on Sunday!

  1. Wow! That is hardcore! I think I would enjoy that more than just a cycle, however :)

P.S. Your dog is sooo cute! I got an email this morning from my hubby saying our dog was laying outside our bedroom waiting for me when he left for work this morning. Little does she know I'm 300 miles away. Broke my heart!!

  2. It looks like a lot of fun...to watch! Although I've talked about getting a cyclocross bike, more so because I want to be able to efficiently ride on pavement but still survive on wider off road trails.

And your outfit is adorable, love the scarf!

  3. Cyclo-cross looks insane! I've only heard of it bc of the H&F board, otherwise I'd have no clue.

Aw, your puppy is cute! I WISH Diva would sit still. She is like the energizer bunny on drugs.gogogogogogogogog.

  5. @Heidi Nicole Thanks! I was a total Target model that day. Everything from the scarf to the shoes were from there.

  6. @Jena Rarely does our dog stay still. This was a rare moment where she was not pulling my arm off trying to find something else to sniff.

  7. @Doc You can...but you would have to move to Iowa. That would free up a lot of time for me to do other things! :) Again, surprisingly - the outfit is from Target. Gotta love that place, although I really should spend my money on some clothes that are a bit better when it comes to quality.
